Grain Spawn is used to inoculate wheat straw or sawdust. It can be used to inoculate hardwood outdoors but it is not ideal since it will attract squirrels and other animals that will try to reach the grains as food source. It can also be used to start culture on agar or to expand more grains.

The Pink oyster mushroom also called Flamingo, Salmon or Strawberry oyster (Pleurotus Djamor) is known for its speed for fruiting. Just like the yellow oyster, the pink has a captivating color. This mushroom can flourish on a variety of substrates, tolerates high temperatures and is very aggressive at colonizing whatever substrate it gets. This is a forgiving, fun to grow, fun to watch and delicious gourmet mushroom. But just like the yellow oyster has a special odor that is not pleasant to everyone.

Difficulty level: easy / moderate / hard

Ideal substrate: straw and sawdust.
